We are respectful. We are resilient. We are ready. We are Rugeley John Taylor.
We are respectful
We treat everyone with kindness and speak and act in ways that make others feel valued. We respect ourselves, each other, our school, and our wider community. We take accountability for our actions, not only to ourselves but to everyone around us. We use kind words, listen carefully, look after our environment, and celebrate differences. We are positive and show empathy, creating an environment where everyone can be the best they can be.
In the primary phase this means – We show respect by being kind to others, listening when someone is speaking, and taking care of our things and our school. Respect helps everyone feel safe, happy, and included. Respect helps us make friends, work well together, and create a school where everyone belongs.
In the secondary phase this means – Respect means we treat others with dignity, both inside and outside our school community. It includes respecting people’s opinions, time, space, and school rules. Respect builds a positive, supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Respect builds trust and helps develop strong relationships – in friendships, work, and beyond.
We are resilient
We face challenges with a positive mindset. We believe in ourselves, act with integrity, and keep going even when things are difficult. We persevere through setbacks and learn from mistakes, facing adversity with courage and confidence. We support each other to grow stronger and more confident every day.
In the primary phase this means – Resilience means trying again when something is hard. It’s okay to make mistakes – that’s how we learn. When we don’t give up, we get better and feel proud. Resilience helps us grow, become braver, and achieve our goals – even when things are tough.
In the secondary phase this means – Resilience means not giving up when things get difficult. It’s about bouncing back, learning from setbacks, and staying motivated. Aspiration fuels our resilience, and our ambitions keep us going, even when things feel tough. Every successful person faces obstacles. What sets us apart is our determination to keep going because we believe in our future and want to reach our full potential.
We are ready
We arrive on time, with all the equipment we need, and are curious and motivated to build our knowledge and learn new things. We ask questions, explore new concepts, and are eager to offer our own contributions. We understand that learning is not always working alone – it’s also about thinking together, sharing ideas, and helping each other improve. Being ready now also makes us better prepared for future opportunities and goals we want to reach later in life.
In the primary phase this means – Being ready means we come to school on time, ready to learn, listen, and try our best. When we’re ready, we learn more, have fun, and help our class run smoothly.
In the secondary phase this means – Being ready means preparing ourselves not just for school, but for our future careers. It’s about being organised, showing up on time, managing our responsibilities, and being open to learning new things. Whether we want to be doctors, mechanics, teachers, business owners, or anything else, getting into the habit of being ready will help us succeed in school now and stand out in the world of work in the future.
