Key Stage 3

Our robust and challenging Key Stage 3 curriculum aligns with the National Curriculum, providing breadth and balance across a range of subjects. The core knowledge learners will be taught is clearly and concisely set out in our curriculum maps, so that learners, teachers and parents know what is being taught during a scheme of learning.

In Key Stage 3, students are taught in mixed ability teaching groups for all lessons in Year 7 and Year 8. All students have access to a full programme of Personal Development which is supplemented by weekly sessions delivered during the tutor programme. All lessons are one-hour in length, and each day students have five, one-hour lessons. We run a two-week timetable at Rugeley John Taylor and students will access 50 lessons during this period.
