Pastoral Care
At Rugeley John Taylor School, we are committed to providing outstanding pastoral care that supports every student to thrive both personally and academically.
Year 6/7 Transition
We know that the transfer from Year 6 to Year 7 can be as daunting for parents as it is for students. The purpose of the information pack, available to download on this page, is to help smooth the transition to Rugeley John Taylor School for you and your child.
School Timetable
We operate a two-week timetable, of twenty-five periods per week, which includes five one-hour lessons each day. The timings of the day are shown on this page.
Uniform

Rugeley John Taylor School is a ‘uniformed’ school, and there is a clear expectation that our students will wear the full uniform appropriately and that this expectation will be supported by parents.
Key Dates
We have detailed the key dates for the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms on this page – as well as other important dates to note.
SEND
Our inclusion team have a wealth of experience and knowledge across all areas of SEND. We also work together with a much wider team of administrative, pastoral and teaching staff to provide the best possible experience for our students.
Safeguarding
We take our responsibilities regarding welfare concerns seriously and encourage our children to talk openly about any worries they may have. In addition, we encourage families to reach out to us should they have concerns.
My Child at School
My Child at School allows families to access their children’s educational, attendance and behaviour information, and is also used to make payments online for items such as dinner money, music tuition and school trips.
Restaurant

We are delighted to be working with Mellors Catering to provide a healthy range of meals throughout the day for our students.
Music Tuition
In partnership with Entrust Music Service Staffordshire, your child could take lessons in a range of instrumental or vocal lessons, including woodwind, brass, percussion and strings.
