Hello, I am delighted and excited to welcome you to Rugeley John Taylor School (RJTS), the first all through school in Staffordshire! I have been involved in school governance since 2012, initially as a parent governor at John Taylor High School, where I was Chair of the Learning and Standards Committee until 2020.
In 2014, I was one of the founding directors of John Taylor Multi Academy Trust, where I was Chair of the Audit and Compliance Committee. I am currently Chair of Governors at Thomas Russell Infants School. I am proud to be part of the development and growth of JTMAT and the positive influence it has had on the education of children. I have been involved with the planning and preparation for RJTS since its inception several years ago and it is wonderful to see how it has developed since then. I can’t wait to welcome the first cohort of pupils in September 2025.
Outside of my governance roles, my professional experience spans a range of sectors and industries. Since 2008, I have been working in higher education as a senior lecturer in business and management. Currently at the University of Derby and previously at Coventry University. Prior to my academic career I had over 15 years experience as an Human Resource Professional within the NHS, construction and retail sectors. I really do believe in the power of education to change lives and we never stop learning. I am so pleased you have have chosen to be part of Rugeley John Taylor School, and the wider JTMAT family. I look forward to forging new relationships and growing a school which enables every child to strive, thrive and achieve.
Best wishes, Amanda
